By offering the i-companion in three market segments, Moulinex is now marketing multi-cooker robots. The companion will be available from €599 delivered only with its basic accessories, compared with almost €1200 for the i-companion touch XL, the latest connected robot and the most complete in the range. With this new multifunction robot, Moulinex hopes to regain the leadership position it lost in 2019 in this booming market. The model will be available from March 2020.

A top-of-the-range multifunctional robot

The Robot will be delivered with a multitude of standard accessories at this level of the range. In particular, you will be entitled to two steamers (one internal and one external), a large stainless steel bowl with a useful capacity of 3 litres, a vegetable cutter and a mini cooking bowl. In addition, Moulinex will automatically supply with the robot a book of over 300 recipes which you will also find in digital version in the robot’s parameters. Finally, a new accessory is making its appearance as the i-companion touch XL will be delivered with a protective cover so that it can be carried everywhere.

For the renewal of its range, Moulinex is this time offering a touch screen. In addition, the i-companion touch XL will be connected in two ways:

  • Firstly, it will be connected in Bluetooth: this will allow the user to launch the recipe and go about his business. Whenever there is a need to intervene on the machine, the robot will send a notification to the user’s smartphone. To do this, it will be necessary to download the dedicated application.
  • The second connectivity facet concerns the collaborative network: consumers will be able to add recipes that everyone will be able to consult and make. This community spirit has already been launched on another of the group’s products, the Cake Factory from Tefal. Launched in 2019, the concept has been well received and the portfolio of recipes continues to grow. The experience has been repeated with this model.

The i-companion touch XL, a Thermomix TM6 hunter

The i-companion touch XL from Moulinex will head the whole range. This product will be a top-of-the-range product and will be sold for around €100 less than its main competitor, i.e. €1,199. At this price, the manufacturer wants to make its flagship product the reference for the top-of-the-range multifunction robot. To do this, the robot will offer no less than 14 automatic programs and sub-programs. The integrated functionalities are standard at this level of the range. Indeed, the robot will allow you to cook, beat, whip, cut, mix and raise in order to widen the scope of recipes. Also, the robot will be suitable for everyone since the advantage of the i-compagnon touch XL is that it can adapt to large families as well as people living alone. The useful capacity of the cooking bowl is the main difference with its competitor. Indeed, with 3 litres of useful capacity, the Moulinex i-companion touch XL allows recipes to be made for up to 10 people as opposed to only 6 people for the TM6. At first glance, the Moulinex robot looks very promising and could achieve its objectives as leader in the top-of-the-range multifunction robot segment. However, we are awaiting its release, scheduled for March, in order to carry out full-scale recipe tests to evaluate the quality of its functionalities.
