Lidl will again offer this July 7 one of its best sellers for your summer grilling: the 3-in-1 200W grill.

The Lidl SILVERCREST 3-in-1 Grill allows for grilling and browning in three configurations: as a user-friendly table grill, contact grill or panini grill. The grill has a solid construction with a steel body. The removable aluminum plates have an ILAG non-stick coating. The top plate is adjustable in height in five levels. We recommend this appliance, which passed our tests with flying colors.

The height adjustment knob is simple. The top of the top plate can be swivelled, allowing the top plate to lie flat even with ingredients that are higher than 2 cm.

The Lidl SILVERCREST 3-in-1 grill comes standard with the following components:

Cooking mode

You can choose to use this grill in 3 different ways:

• Fully folded down, so that the hot plates can be used as a tabletop grill. You have to use the “180°” button on the side.
• with the movable upper hot plate as a contact grill, so that meat or fish can be grilled on both sides.
• with the fixed upper hot plate as a panini grill, so that you can grill baguettes for example.

Cleaning

One of the major constraints of this type of appliance is the cleaning. SILVERCREST has simplified cleaning by providing a button for each plate that allows you to release the plate. You can soak them in water with dishwashing liquid. On our tests, the plates were easy to clean. If you want to do a more thorough wash, the plates are dishwasher safe.

Clean the removed hot plates with hot water and a little washing-up liquid. In case of stubborn incrustations, soak the hotplates 0 in the rinsing water for a while. Rinse the hot plates 0 with clean water after washing to remove any remaining washing-up liquid. Dry everything thoroughly. The hotplates 0 must be dry before they are put back into the appliance!

Temperature control

The temperature control 6 allows you to adjust the temperature :

• Cooking level 1: preheating level / low temperature
• Cooking level 2: medium temperature, e.g. cooking vegetables
• Cooking level 3: high temperature, e.g. cooking steak

The appliance has two indicator lights: The first orange led “Power” indicates when the grill is on The second green led “Ready” indicates that the appliance is ready and at the right temperature. During the cooking process, the green “Ready” control light may go out again temporarily. This means that the set temperature has dropped below the set temperature and that the appliance is heating up again.

Conclusion

Compared to the older 1700W models, the SILVERCREST 3 in 1 2000W grill has a good power output which allows the plates to be heated up to 220°C. The rise in temperature is fast, about 3-4 minutes, and the cooking is homogeneous on both plates.
