CookEasy+ Kenwood

thumbnail for this post

Nearly a year and a half after the release of its first multifunction robot Kcook Multi Smart CCL455SI, Kenwood is doing it again with its new model, the CookEasy+.

A desired move upmarket

The CookEasy+ differs from its predecessor in its classy design. The new robot now has an adjustable 10.9 centimetre colour touch screen. The CookEasy+ is similar to the touch interface of the TM6 standard from Vorwerk or the Lidl Mr. Connect kitchen. The manufacturer has now opted for the integrated scale, which was a long-awaited feature.

The CookEasy+ takes advantage of the benefits of a multi-cooker robot and at the same time integrates new functions such as grating or chopping with the “Direct Prep” block. In addition, this block can be used without even having to use the robot afterwards.

In addition to the “Direct Prep” block, the CookEasy + comes with an external 2-stage steam basket and a water collector. It also comes with a mixer, an emulsifier, and removable knives. Note however that its dismantling is not easy and all the accessories take up space. However, the robot is intended to take up a permanent place on a work surface so that you can think about the working environment around the robot once and for all.

In addition, the CookEasy+ has a stainless steel bowl with a maximum capacity of 3 litres with the lid closed and even 4.5 litres with the bowl open. Another special feature of the CookEasy+ is that certain recipes can be cooked with the bowl open. In addition, unlike most food processors, it is possible to remove the blades and the blade holder for flat-bottom cooking. This will be particularly practical for long cooking times.

A multifunction and connected robot

The CookEasy+ offers 8 preset programs for which blade speed, temperature and cooking time are already preset. You can therefore choose between the one pot, cream soup, old-fashioned soup, slow cooking, steaming, kneading, dough pushing and rinsing programs.

The application also offers a few additional modes such as simmering egg etc. In addition, this robot is also connected and programmable from a connected tablet or mobile phone. Pairing is done via the available Kenwood World application. You will then be able to consult all the recipes and start the steps via the application. As with the Thermomix or the Lidl robot, this information can also be displayed on the multi-cooker’s screen just as with the Thermomix or the Lidl robot.

For sorting purposes, the presence of filters allows recipes to be selected by different meal types or diets. On the whole, the instructions are precise and it is appreciable to be able to modify the number of people on the recipes in order to adapt the quantities of ingredients. It is particularly appreciated to be able to send the ingredients of a recipe via a shopping list on the phone.

However, it is worth noting the absence of an internal steam basket, which has become standard among direct competitors. Also, the choice of a lid without ears that can be unlocked with a press and then a quarter turn is surprising and impractical after cooking since the lid remains hot.

In conclusion, the robot is generally attractive. However, some of the proposed recipes would benefit from being reviewed, as we have noted a few inaccuracies. Its design and its numerous functions are nevertheless appreciable. However, all these parameters have a cost because it is now sold at 999€, i.e. 300€ more expensive than the manufacturer’s first model, the Kcook multi Smart.
