Digicook Arthur Martin Intermarché

thumbnail for this post

The Intermarché distribution brand marketed its Arthur Martin stamped cooker robot on December 10. It is a multifunction cooking robot launched at €349. This is €10 less than the price of its main competitor, Mr. Cuisine Connect from the Lidl brand. Along with its competitor, the Arthur Martin Digicook represents one of the 2 main products at a very aggressive price in the competitive multifunction robot market. Indeed, at a time when the Thermomix TM6 from Vorwerk is selling every 38 seconds, we can expect a huge success for the Digicook, which costs 3 times less. A short review of the product in detail.

A product positioned on the low-cost market

Arthur Martin enjoys a very good reputation among French consumers, particularly for the quality of its products made in France. This is why Intermarché has formed a partnership with the manufacturer to produce the Digicook under an Arthur Martin license. As you will have understood, this is not a product that has come off the Arthur Martin production lines since the product is made in China. That said, this is not a problem, since some multifunctional robots made in China have proven themselves on the western market.

Aesthetically speaking, Digicook designed by Intermarché looks a lot like Mr. Kitchen Connect from Lidl. Indeed, the motor block to which the bowl is added is designed in the same way. In addition, the double handles with lid and measuring cap have the same characteristics as the competitor. Also, there is a touch screen of the same size, namely 7 inches.

In addition, the product is delivered with several dozen recipes directly integrated. These are classified in different submenus such as pasta, meat, fish, vegetarian, pies, cakes, etc.. In addition, the product is connected by wifi, which allows the manufacturer to readjust his recipe repertoire and add new recipes if necessary.

The different features of the Arthur Martin Digicook

The Digicook ‘Intermarché’ is a connected robot. The process is very simple since you only have to press the router button to display the available wifi networks. Once selected and the password entered, the robot will be connected. However, as with Mr. Cookie Connect, the connection is only used to update recipes since it does not allow interaction with your smartphone or tablet.

As for accessories, the Digicook offers the same accessories as the two other devices, Mr. Cookie Connect and the TM6. So we have a steam basket, a spatula, a butterfly beater to position on the knives and an external basket with 2 levels. Also, the robot has a large integrated screen surmounted by a stainless steel tank with a capacity of 3 litres, which is very useful when the TM6’s capacity is only 2.2 litres.

The Digicook also includes a scale, which is a very good point on the practical side. Indeed, thanks to the tare system, it will be possible to realize your quantities immediately on the robot. However, beware of the slight latency of the scale and the difficult readability. Also, the scale sometimes tends to go to the negative. So make sure to carry out the tares when necessary.

On the functionality side, in addition to the automatic modes to follow recipes, the interface also integrates a manual mode with 3 functions: Temperature, Knife rotation speed and timer. The appliance also offers 5 programs that allow quick access to preset functions such as sauce, steam, soft, kneading 1, kneading 2.

The Digicook’s system limitations

The Digicook has many limitations due to a poorly performing multimedia system. For example, one can regret the absence of soup recipes at the start of the product. Indeed, despite the wide range of recipes already present, the manufacturer did not consider it useful to include soup recipes. However, this recipe is indispensable on a food processor since it is one of the most frequently used recipes on a multifunction food processor. In fact, it is in the top 3 of the most recipes made with this type of device. We therefore expect a quick correction in an update of the device.
