thumbnail for this post

The Spanish brand Cecotec intends to establish itself in the All-In-One kitchen appliances market with its Mambo 10090 food processor. Sold at less than 350€, will this robot be able to meet the expectations of its customers? This is what we will see during this test.

The Mambo 10090 from Cecotec: presentation

Cecotec is a company specialized in small household appliances. Still little known, the brand is very successful in Spain where it enjoys a strong reputation as an innovative brand.

When unpacking, the robot impresses. In view of its rather imposing size, with dimensions of 40 x 25 x 33 cm and a weight slightly exceeding 8 kilos, you will have to find a permanent place for it on your work surface. In addition, the brand offers a range of accessories to complement the robot:

  • a special MamboMix spoon;
  • two bowls, one of which is made of stainless steel and the other has a non-stick ceramic coating. The bowls have a useful capacity of 3.3 liters and are dishwasher-safe;
  • a basket for boiling your food. It allows you to prepare up to 4 preparations at the same time; a butterfly accessory that allows you to beat eggs. It has a silicone reinforcement to be able to recover all the remains of the preparation;
  • a steam cooking tray on 2 levels for cooking vegetables or meat for example;
  • a spatula;
  • a book with a wide variety of recipes;
  • and an instruction manual.

The mambo 10090 has a large digital display with a touch screen control panel that is very intuitive to use. It is also equipped with a motor with a double gear. This allows for optimal performance at both low and high speeds.

A connected device, but not only!

The Mambo 10090 robot from Cecotec is a connected device. It is indeed capable of providing recipes in automatic. All you have to do is configure the settings for the different stages of the recipe, such as the speed of the mixer, the temperature or the preparation time, and the robot will take care of the rest. Of course, your presence will also be necessary to add ingredients during the preparation. The recipes on the mobile application follow steps that indicate the ingredients to be placed in the robot and the necessary configuration. You will then have to start the program and wait for the countdown. When the countdown reaches zero, you will be warned by a sound signal that will indicate that you have to go to the next step.

In addition to this automatic mode, the food processor is fully manageable remotely from your smartphone. Thus, you can prepare your dishes while sitting on your sofa. The application will send you push notifications during the preparation of your recipes.

The robot also gives the user the opportunity to use it in manual operation. All you have to do is make your own settings, select the function you want to use, and you’re done.

Features of the Mambo 10090 connected food processor by Cecotec

The robot hosts 30 cooking and preparation programs. Thus, the robot can cut, chop, mix, grind, fry, grind, pulverize, grate … In short, it can do almost everything on paper. The robot is fully customizable on all parameters. Indeed, the Mambo 10090 offers a multitude of possibilities with an adjustable speed from 0 to 10, a cooking temperature ranging from 37°C to 120°C, a Turbo function etc.

The brand has made the practicality and intuitiveness its main objective. Moreover, the fact that there are two bowls is very practical for everyday use, as it will be useful to be able to make several recipes at the same time. To accompany this slew of features, the robot is linked to the Mambo smartphone application in which you will have unlimited access to recipes and step-by-step guidance program. Here again, you will have access to a multitude of diverse recipes. To find your recipe, there are 2 possibilities: The first one which consists in browsing the different food categories of the robot (desserts, soups and cream, etc.). the second one which consists in doing your search by keyword directly.

The preparations are rather successful but for a food processor at this price, you should not expect an ultra perfect result. Nevertheless, it provides more than the essentials and on a daily basis, it will largely do the job. We particularly appreciate the zero function that allows you to cook without the lid. Indeed, this function avoids any risk of projection, by simulating the use of a traditional pan or pot. On the other hand, you will be in control of the cooking of your food ingredients from start to finish since the zero function implies regular stirring of the ingredients.

Our final verdict on the Mambo 10090 from Cecotec

The Cecotec Mambo 10090 food processor is a versatile and complete device. The manufacturer has designed a successful device with simple and intuitive programs. The Mambo application considerably expands your choice of recipes with over 200 integrated recipes. The product’s sophistication even goes as far as integrating the scale to ensure the robot’s practicality. Rarely seen in the competition, the manufacturer offers 2 bowls as standard, which is also very practical, especially when you want to make starters and dishes in one go with the robot.

Finally, the food processor can easily replace the vast majority of all kitchen utensils. However, we regret that the recipes are sometimes badly translated, or that the appliance is slightly noisy, but nothing to worry about. Sold for less than 350€, this food processor offers an excellent quality/price ratio and we recommend it. Moreover, with the purchase of the device, you will benefit from the 2-year manufacturer’s warranty.
