Cook Expert de Magimix

thumbnail for this post

Launched in 2015, the Cook Expert is the very first food processor from the manufacturer Magimix. Available in 3 different colours (red, chrome and black), the Cook Expert robot cooker is a truly versatile appliance capable of performing many tasks.

A complete robot despite a technological deficit

The Cook Expert is a multifunction robot sold at the high price of 1200€. At first glance, the absence of a touch screen is obvious, at a time when competitors are racing for the biggest screens. Indeed, the commands are displayed on the screen and are selected using the buttons on the sides. However, the model is particularly intuitive and offers various automatic baking functions such as blender, bakery, robot etc.

In addition, within certain categories, there are predefined programs such as cream soup, for example. Once the sub-program has been chosen, simply insert the ingredients and press the auto button to start the robot. Then, between the cooking time and the mixing, the machine will take care of the whole operation.

The food processor function for slicing vegetables is particularly distinctive because it is automatically selected when the lid of the multi-function bowl is attached. Therefore, all you have to do is place the vegetables in the chute and press the button. The vegetables will then be sliced cleanly.

We also appreciate the expert function which, when activated, gives us control over all the parameters. With this function, you can choose the time, the mixing speed and the cooking temperature. It is also possible to set the cooking temperature to the nearest degree.

All the recipes launched with the robot are generally successful and the cooking temperatures are surprisingly precise. It is therefore a truly complete robot.

The practicality of the Cook Expert

First of all, the food processor comes with 2 other bowls, a large one mainly used for chopping fish or meat and a small one for chopping small amounts of parsley for example. In addition, all parts of the Expert Cook are dishwasher-safe. Also, following the example of the competition, the large bowl can be washed quickly by running soapy water for one minute at 40 degrees with the rinse programme. Then simply rinse the bowl and the result is very correct. However, this program is not sufficient when the preparation has particularly stuck during cooking. In addition, the accessories and plastic bowls take up a lot of space, so make sure you have enough room in your cupboards.

Magimix has also insisted on the safety of its products. Indeed, the Cook Expert cannot start cooking without locking the lid. If the lid is not properly locked, a message will appear on the robot screen.

In conclusion, Magimix, together with Vorwerk and Moulinex, are the market leaders in multifunction food processors. The manufacturer was able to capitalize on its experience to develop a complete and versatile product. The recipes are good and particularly successful and the cooking times are respected. Nevertheless, we regret the relatively slow cooking times compared to competitors. Moreover, the product suffers from competition from renewed products. Indeed, launched in 2015, the Cook Expert is starting to look old, with the absence of a touch screen and an integrated scale.
